研究方向与兴趣：
（1）新的寡糖化学合成的方法和策略的发展；
（2）生物活性寡糖(包括肿瘤相关糖抗原)的合成及活性评价；
（3）氨基糖苷类抗生素的化学改造；
（4）糖苷酶、糖基转移酶抑制剂的设计、合成、评价以及基于糖类的新药的发现。
主要学术兼职：
中国化学会化学生物学专业委员会委员，中国生物工程学会糖工程专业委员会委员，中国生物化学与分子生物学会复合糖专业委员会副主任委员，国家“重大新药创制”科技重大专项总体专家组成员。担任《有机化学》、《高等学校化学学报》、《中国药物化学杂志》、《中国新药杂志》、《北京大学学报（自然科学版）》等杂志的编委，担任《Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences》杂志的副主编，担任国际杂志Carbohydrate Research的编委。
